Today's church faces unprecedented challenges with rapid cultural change, extreme diversity, and transitioning communities. However, these challenges also bring new opportunities for churches to impact their communities. Effective churches are passionately pursuing innovative strategies to meet these new challenges.
Coastal Rivers Baptist Association stands ready to assist and support all of our churches with resources aimed at fulfill their commitment to the Great Commission.
OUR PURPOSE
The Coastal Rivers Baptist Association is a network of churches seeking to work together to glorify our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We exist to promote missions, evangelism, a spirit of unity, and growth among our churches. We work to further the gospel in cooperation with other Baptist associations, the Georgia Baptist Mission Board and the Southern Baptist Convention. We share in partnership ministries with other organizations whose goals and purposes are in harmony with those of our Association.

OUR CHURCHES
The membership of the Coastal Rivers Baptist Association is composed of cooperating Baptist Churches. A cooperating church is one that supports the purpose of the Association and has been accepted as a member of the Association. Currently, we are made up of 40 member churches.
Our Staff
Dr. Charles "Chuck" Owens
Associational Mission Strategist
Dr. Owens began his ministry at Coastal Rivers Baptist Association in November 2025. Prior to serving as Associational Mission Strategist, he served in ministry more than forty years, 37 years as a Senior/Lead Pastor of churches in Kentucky, Texas and Georgia and most recently as Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church, Valdosta for eleven years.
Chuck received his theological training from the Billy Graham School of Missions, Evangelism and Church Growth at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Chuck is certified in Church Planting; Church Consultation and is seeking certification in Church Revitalization and Intentional Pastoral Interims. Chuck’s goal is to glorify the Lord through serving the pastors and churches of the Coastal Rivers Baptist Association.
Chuck and his wife Amy have been married for 38 years and are the proud parents of three children and two amazing grandchildren.
